The so-called "third mission" of universities, the technology transfer, has a fundamental role to promote the innovation policy, to be implemented in cooperation with private investors, in towns such as Pisa can be, to be included in a global network of relationships. Sant'Anna School for Advanced Studies is one of the Italian universities that has a leading role in promoting technology transfer and, in fact, the rector Pierdomenico Perata is one of the protagonists of Monday's conference May 9th in Naples, titled "Start up Innovative. A resource for country system” , promoted by Research & Entrepreneurship Foundation, Regione Campania, University of Naples Federico II.

The seminar, hosted at the Federico II convention center, wants to offer - for the first time in Italy - the opportunity of a high-level comparison of experiences, ideas, proposals of the five actors who can contribute to the future and development of startups in our country: universities, large companies, banks, venture capital funds and institutions.

Professor Perata, rector,  participates in the first session dedicated to the role of universities, research and higher education centers. Seminar is coordinated by Fabrizio Landi, President of Toscana Life Sciences and vice president of Research & Entrepreneurship Foundation Management Council. Discussants include: Giovanni Azzone, Rector of Politecnico di Milano; Roberto Cingolani, Scientific Director of the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT); Massimo Ingush, President of the National Research Council (CNR); Gaetano Manfredi, President of the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI).

The strategic objective is to ensure that new companies with high technological level become influential and recognized as "agents of innovation", integrated into the socio-economic and industry environment of the country, as adequate to meet public and private demand for innovation. This is an opportunity to combine the components of "innovation ecosystem" into operating synergy, creating the conditions to make the ecosystem efficient and dynamic also in Italy.
